General Information About Nurse Online Workshops:

Nurse Online Workshops (N.O.W.) is an online training initiative aimed at health professionals who require updates in clinical subjects. It has been developed by Professional Development International to provide an online cervical smear training update and an online respiratory update. In particular, it saves time and money. You will not need leave the workplace to attend for your updates and Primary Care Trusts will benefit as they will not need to organise and fund training events, venues and refreshment costs.

Each online training programme takes approximately two and a half hours to complete.

Cervical cancer kills many women each year and can be prevented through regular cervical screening. Updates following education and training for nurses and doctors is essential. This online cervical sample takers update is for those nurses and doctors who are experienced cervical sample (smear) takers and who require a three yearly update as recommended by the NHS Cancer Screening Programme (NHSCSP) standards (2006).

Asthma and copd kills many people and nurses involved with patients with respiratory conditions need updating to keep pace with current best practice. The online respiratory training programme  is aimed at anyone who cares for patients with respiratory conditions. It includes  an update on asthma,allergies,copd and inhalers.  

This online series will eventually include updates in various clinical subjects delivered by experts in their field . The online updates will be reviewed regularly so that information is kept fresh and interesting. They can be undertaken at a time that is convenient to you and will provide excellent value . The content includes Power Point presentations with voice over, video clips and a self assessment quiz..

To Apply For A Place:

• Applicants will pay a fee.
• Receipt of payment results in the generation of an electronic
  e-   voucher.
• The e-voucher has a unique identity number.
• The applicant logs in to the N.O.W. website.
• The Trust receives confirmation that the applicant has logged on and
      when the online course is completed (for the cervical sample takers update only).
• The applicant undertakes the course.
• A certificate of completion is generated.
